I was sitting in the truck, waiting for someone, and I was really liking the way the rain on the windshield distorted the shape of the power lines. Just as I took the shot a flash of lightning illuminated up the scene.

I intended to just play with the colours of this for art reference , but when I saw it on the computer I liked the way it looked naturally. Especially the way the lightning and water distortion made the oil rainbow on the pavement show up. So the only tweaking done here was to crop out the hood of the truck. Everything else is Nature.

nice I've always wanted to do this! I always find myself spacing out when in a parked car while its raining thinking that it looks like the world is melting through the windshield.. good job!!

Thanks. Yes! That is exactly what it looks like! Melting. I was trying to think of a good way to describe the effect.

Oh yes, reminds me of looking out a car window when rain is pouring down on the glass and everything looks so sad.

The building is rather sad even on a sunny day. I was parked just right for the water to be smooth and gentle. that only lasted a few moments, then it poured again.
